Jolt Racing Make a Solid Debut in British GT

Jolt Racing kicked off their 2025 campaign in the brand-new British GT Endurance Cup at Donington Park, making their debut in the championship. The weekend marked a new chapter for the team as they stepped up to British GT with returning driver pairing John Ingram and Rupert Williams, taking on a fiercely competitive GT4 field in their #37 McLaren Artura GT4.

Having missed Thursday’s pre-weekend testing due to a significant repair job following an unlucky outing in the GT Cup the weekend prior, Saturday’s running proved challenging for the team. The morning Free Practice and Pre-Qualifying sessions began with steady progress, but technical issues emerged in qualifying, ultimately halting their momentum. Despite the disruptions, Ingram and Williams lined up P4 in the Endurance Cup and P11 overall in GT4 ahead of the first race of the 2025 British GT season.

Sunday’s race brought fresh challenges, with Williams lining up P4 in Endurance Cup and settling into a steady rhythm early on.

The race was neutralised early by a Full Course Yellow due to a car stranded in the gravel. A Safety Car followed shortly after, before an additional delay occurred when a competitor came to a stop at pit exit, extending the caution period by an extra lap.

With the race resuming just past the one-hour mark, Williams completed a measured first stint before bringing the car into pit lane for the mandatory driver change, with Ingram stepping in for the final half of the race.

Unfortunately, the team was later handed a drive-through penalty for a procedural issue under the earlier full course yellow, but the team pushed through to the chequered flag, completing a valuable first run in the new championship and banking key points in their debut.

John Ingram commented: “Our British GT debut certainly threw a few curveballs at us, but the car felt amazing, and we have a lot of positives to take away from the weekend. The team did a great job keeping things together, and we’re ready to build from here”.

Rupert Williams added: “This weekend was a significant milestone for us. While we encountered a few challenges, we’ve got a fantastic car and a dedicated team, and I’m excited to keep building on this at Silverstone.”

The British GT Championship resumes with round two at Silverstone on 26-27 April, where Jolt Racing will look to convert their progress into more points.
