John Ingram
Biography
John started his competitive motorsport career in karting aged just 13 years old before progressing to mainstream motorsport in 1996 after achieving success in the RAC MSA Super One British Karting Championship. In 1998, John progressed into the British Formula 3 Championship aged 20 years old, remaining in Formula 3 for the 1998 and 1999 seasons with Speedsport F3 competing in several events including an invitation to the Madras Formula 3 Grand Prix in Chennai sponsored by MRF.
Over the next decade, John built a successful motorsport career competing in various national and international championships including the Renault UK Clio Cup, Caterham R400 Superlight Championship and the Renault Sport Elf Clio V6 Trophy in Europe. John also worked as a professional performance driver, including two years for Mercedes-AMG.
John’s career highlights include two wins in the British Formula 3 Championship and third overall place in the LMP2 championship in the 2004 Le Mans Endurance Series.
After a career break, John returned to motorsport in 2022 competing in the Silverlake Citroen C1 Endurance Series at the Donington Park three-hour event alongside grass-track racer Scott Evans.
John then founded Jolt Racing in 2022 as a professional motorsport team with the objective to build a world class sports car racing team and compete at top level blue-riband motorsport events.
After successfully competing in Jolt Racing’s maiden season in the 2023 Silverlake Citroen C1 Endurance Series, John has stepped into the GT Cup Championship.
For 2024, John will be competing in the GT Cup Championship driving Jolt Racing’s new McLaren 570S GT4.
