Rupert Williams
Biography
Following a successful business career, Rupert has turned his attention to motorsport with the objective of reaching the pinnacle of international endurance racing.
Rupert joined Jolt Racing as a rookie in 2023 competing in the Silverlake Citroen C1 Endurance Series. Rupert had a successful rookie season and an intensive winter testing programme in Europe in the team’s Ligier LMP4, Rupert has now stepped up into the GT Cup Championship.
For 2024, Rupert will be competing in the GT Cup Championship driving Jolt Racing’s new McLaren 570S GT4, a full competition specification GT4 car. The GT Cup is the most competitive GT club racing championship in the UK. Former GT Cup Champions have gone on to achieve Rupert’s objectives of successfully competing in endurance motorsport at the highest level.
Alongside his other ventures, Rupert has become known for charity fund raising through his athletic achievements. In 2016, Rupert competed in the 700 in 7 days cycling event, riding 700 miles in 7 days from Abrdeen to London and raised £17,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. In 2018, Rupert completed the Tower 2 Tower cycling event, riding from the Tower of London to the Eiffel Tower including rowing the English Channel and raised £15,000 for Dreamflight, a UK charity that takes children with a serious illness or disability on their holiday of a lifetime to Orlando. In 2019, Rupert competed in The Big 5, a five-day personal endurance event consisting of running a full- length marathon on day one, swimming 4 kilometres on day two, cycling 112 miles in the Lake District on day three, rowing twenty-two miles across Lake Windermere on day four and concluding with climbing Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain, on day five. Rupert successfully raised another £20,000 for Dreamflight. In 2022, Rupert raised a further £12,000 for Dreamflight competing a double Ironman event in southern and northern Spain.
