After a busy summer break, Jolt Racing returned to action in their debut GT Cup campaign this past weekend, competing at Donington Park for the penultimate round of the championship.

Despite promising progress during Thursday’s testing, which showed significant improvements since the team’s last outing at Donington Park in April, their hopes were dashed when a technical fault—initially suspected to stem from the wiring loom—was discovered.

Not willing to throw in the towel, the team sprang into action and in a remarkable show of teamwork, executed the repair in record time, giving them the chance to head out in Saturday afternoon’s pit-stop race, despite it previously looking like they were ruled out of all of Saturday’s sessions.

Unfortunately, the technical issue continued at the beginning of the pit-stop race, causing the car to retire early and withdraw from the remainder of the weekend so that the car could undergo a full repair back at the workshop.

John Ingram, said: “Naturally, we’re all disappointed, but motorsport often comes down to luck, and this weekend just wasn’t ours. The team has done an incredible job all season to ensure our car’s reliability, and this was just an unfortunate blip.”

“I’d like to express my gratitude to our crew who worked tirelessly all day to do everything possible to get us out on track. We’ll regroup and look forward to finishing the season strong at Snetterton in three weeks’ time.”

The GT Cup Championship will continue on the 5-6 October for the finale weekend at Snetterton.
