Jolt Racing Pick Up Further Silverware at Silverstone
Jolt Racing continued their upward progress in the 2024 GT Cup Championship at Silverstone last weekend with four class wins, maintaining their sixth-place position overall in the championship.
Heading to the home of British motorsport after a few weeks off since their successful weekend at Snetterton, where John Ingram and Rupert Williams picked up four GTA class wins, the pair were feeling optimistic and aiming to build on their successful campaign so far.
The team had a particularly exciting weekend planned as they invited their partners trackside for a day of VIP hospitality on Saturday to get a front-row seat to the action.
After a test session on the Friday prior to the weekend, the conditions were looking optimum, and John kicked off Saturday with a class pole in the first qualifying session of the weekend, securing his grid position for that afternoon’s sprint race where he secured the team’s first class win of the weekend.
Continuing their good form into the afternoon, and with a number of the team’s partners trackside watching on, Rupert completed the first stint in the 50-minute pit-stop race around the 5.891 km circuit. John then jumped in during the mid-way pit-stop to bring the car home for another GTA class win in the McLaren 570S GT4.
With the races reversing order on Sunday, it was Rupert who once again starts the second pit-stop race of the weekend and put in a great first stint before handing over to John, as the pair secured their third class win. Putting his teachings from the earlier races to practice, Rupert was on great form once again in the final sprint race of the weekend, securing a fourth and final GTA class win for the team.
Rupert Williams said, “Having the opportunity to race at the home of British motorsport is always amazing and, as a team, we achieved another set of results that we can be proud of.”
John Ingram added, “From having our team partners join us trackside to experience the weekend with us, to picking up another set of class wins, it’s been a memorable weekend all around.”
“It’s been a great start to the season, and we’re looking forward to the penultimate round of the season at Donington Park after a few weeks off for the summer break”.
The GT Cup Championship continues on the 14-15 September at Donington Park after a short summer break.
