Quadruple Podium Success at Snetterton for Jolt Racing

Jolt Racing continued their good form in the 2024 GT Cup Championship with four class wins at Snetterton last weekend (1-2 June), jumping up to 6th overall in the championship out of 19 entrants.

Taking to the Norfolk countryside in their McLaren 570S GT4, driver line-up Rupert Williams and John Ingram looked forward to continuing the success from the first two rounds of the season, which have seen the team make significant progress in their debut season.

With conditions looking clear for the weekend, John put in a great performance in the first qualifying session, putting the pair in class pole for the opening race, where Rupert then brought the car home for a first class win in his first-ever race on the 3-mile Snetterton 300 circuit.

Heading into the first pit-stop race of the weekend, Rupert took charge at the start, and impressive stints by each driver, along with a swift pit stop by the team, resulted in a second GTA class win on day one.

After gaining more experience around the circuit on day one, which saw him building up his confidence and speed as the weekend progressed, it was Rupert who started Sunday’s pit-stop race before handing over to John who had qualified first in class that morning. The 50-minute race quickly turned into a race of attrition with multiple competitors retiring during the session, but Rupert and John both put in another strong performance to clinch a third class-win.

Rupert capped off the day with another class win in the final 20-minute sprint race, wrapping up another strong weekend of results.

Rupert Williams said, “Last weekend was my first time ever racing at Snetterton, so it was a huge learning experience. The aim of the weekend was to continue to build confidence and speed in the car, and that’s exactly what we achieved.”

John Ingram added, “It’s been another strong weekend for the whole team. We’re continuing to make great progress with the car, and 2024 continues to be a great season of development for us.”

“We’re thrilled to be leaving Snetterton sitting sixth overall in the championship as we turn our focus to the next round.”

The GT Cup Championship continues at the end of the month with a one-day event at Oulton Park on the 29th of June.
